Election 2017 - Iowa Schools

Southeast Iowa residents will go to the polls on Sept. 12 to fill seats on local school boards and community college boards of trustees and to settle ballot questions and bond referendums.

There are several contested races between Lee and Des Moines Counties. Tri States Public Radio spoke with the candidates in Fort Madison and West Burlington and for the District 2 Seat on the SCC Board of Trustees.

You can hear directly from the candidates on why they entered the race and where they stand on several key issues.

The votes have been tallied in southeast Iowa. There will be a fairly even mix of incumbents and newcomers joining local school boards.
