A Lee County man is accusing the state of Iowa of firing him from his job in the Department of Corrections for being a whistleblower.

A whistleblower lawsuit filed against Lee County will go to trial in late November. This comes after a judge denied an attempt to have the lawsuit dismissed.

A senior scientist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture filed a whistleblower complaint on Wednesday accusing the federal agency of suppressing research findings that could call into question the use of a popular pesticide class that is a revenue powerhouse for the agrichemical industry.

Another former Lee County employee is suing the county over whistleblower protections.
