A top priority for the Tri-State Development Summit is to make affordable housing available for more individuals and families in western Illinois, southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri.  The organization was formed after the Flood of 1993 as a means for local leaders to keep in better contact.

A summit that brings together business, government and community leaders from throughout the tri-state region reached a milestone on Wednesday, May 7.

Three events scheduled for this week for focusing on housing in the tri-state region.

The Tri-State Development Summit has formed in 1996, following the historic Flood of 1993.

The organization brings together communities leaders from several dozen counties in west-central Illinois, southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

One of its standing committees focuses on housing needs in the tri-state region.  To assist in its efforts, a special day-long summit was held on the campus of Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
