Southeastern Community College can proceed with a temporary expansion of its Keokuk campus.
The faculty at Southeastern Community College is seeking a pay increase and several language changes in its next contract.
The initial offer from the SCC Higher Education Association for the 2013/2014 school year calls for a 6.85% increase in salaries and benefits.
The increase would be calculated after state money set aside for improving teacher salaries is added to current salaries and benefits.
The HEA also wants education levels to be considered during lay-off recalls and the option to carry over unused leave time or be reimbursed for it.
SCC is putting some permanent construction in Lee County on hold for the time being.
Danielle Scheetz, 13, lives in Dallas City, IL. She is in 8th Grade at Holy Trinity Junior High School across the Mississippi River in Fort Madison.
Like many teenagers, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and playing sports like volleyball.
Scheetz also has a special talent: art. That talent led to her roughly 25-piece exhibit, "Experience Art," being on display at the SCC West Burlington Campus Art Gallery through January 15, 2013.
“It’s pretty exciting,” said Scheetz about her first show. “I’m very happy it’s there and that it is my very first one.”
Students at Southeastern Community College (SCC) are pledging to finish what they started.
