SCC Accepts Bid for Keokuk Building

Southeastern Community College is moving ahead with plans for a big addition to its Keokuk campus. The Board of Trustees accepted the nearly $4.9 million bid from Myers Construction (Sperry, IA) to build the new Industrial Maintenance Technology building.


Southeastern Community College (SCC) is in the midst of a multi-million dollar makeover, adding several new educational buildings to its campuses in West Burlington and Keokuk. Now, a four-story residence hall on the West Burlington campus has been added to the so-called "Building the Dream" campaign.

Southeastern Community College certainly lived up to the saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" when it comes to the new Industrial Technologies Training Center on the Keokuk campus.  The college's dedication paid off in the form of a roughly $1 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration.

Southeastern Community College President Michael Ash said the groundbreaking ceremony for the school's new Health Professions Center on the West Burlington campus was about more than just "moving some dirt."  He said it was about establishing a new vision for SCC.

Southeastern Community College is altering an agreement it has with a regional health care provider.
