Montrose Could Buy Buildings

Park Ridge Workshop in Montrose, IA

Montrose residents are being asked to help the city make a big, financial decision.

The city is interested in purchasing Park Ridge Workshop for $100,000.  The three-building complex was previously used for light industrial work.

Mayor Bobby Reid says Montrose owns the land, but an individual owns the buildings.

He says the city could use about 1/3 of the 30,000 square feet of available space for city offices, a maintenance shop and possibly a community center.

The remaining space could be rented out for commercial or industrial use.
