No Confidence

The Board of Trustees at Western Illinois University said it will stand by the administration despite last month's "no confidence" vote by faculty.  65% of faculty members who returned their ballot stated they do not have confidence in the administration.

Western Illinois University faculty members took a vote of "no confidence" in the administrative leadership for the first time. It passed with 65% of those who voted stating they do not have confidence and 33% voting they do.

Western Illinois University faculty members will cast ballots this month on whether they have confidence in the administration. Western's president and the chair of the Board of Trustees told Tri States Public Radio that they are taking the vote seriously.

A petition with signatures from about 24% of the Western Illinois University faculty has been submitted to the WIU Faculty Senate. It asks for a no confidence vote in the university's administration.
