Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guests are Janna Deitz and Keith Boeckelman of Western Illinois University's Political Science Department. They talk about the results of the mid-term elections.

Republicans took control of the US House, while Democrats narrowly held on to the US Senate. Some of the GOP winners have ties to the Tea Party movement. Their next challenge will be to prove they have the ability to govern, which can be more difficult than campaigning.

Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guests are Sue Scott and Chris Vallillo. They talk about the traveling Smithsonian exhibit "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music," which opens this weekend at the Western Illinois Museum in Macomb.

Scott is curator for the museum. Vallillo is a musician. He is also the Illinois state scholar for the Smithsonian exhibit.

Lee County, IA – Jason Parrott's guest is Linda Ross. Ross owns Chestnut Hill Pottery near Denmark and helped organize the 2nd Annual Southeast Iowa Artists' Studio Tour.

The tour runs 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 16 and 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 17.

Those participating in the tour can visit 39 art studios or galleries throughout Lee, Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, and Washington.

Burlington, IA – Jason Parrott's guests are Kali Andrews with the Alzheimer's Association-Greater Iowa Chapter and Mary Ann Gaudette with the southeast Iowa chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They spoke about a pair of fundraising events coming up October 9-10.

The 2010 Memory Walk will take place in Burlington's Crapo Park Saturday, October 9 at 10:00 A.M.
