Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is Mary Warnock, Chairperson of the Creative Elder Options Committee for the Macomb Area AARP.

They talk about the latest edition of the McDonough County Senior Services Directory, which is now available at Macomb City Hall, McDonough District Hospital, and the Macomb YMCA.

The directory can also be found on-line.

The directory provides information about the choices available to senior citizens in McDonough County. It was first printed in 2006.

Lee County, IA – Jason Parrott's guest is Julie Schilling, Administrator of the Lee County Health Department. They discuss the county's Community Health Needs Assessment & Health Improvement Plan for 2011-2016.

Local boards of health are required to lead discussions on community health needs every five years.

Schilling says the Lee County Health Department has been working for months with health care partners from throughout the county. She says more than 1,200 residents also participated in a survey.

Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is Janine Cavicchia, Director of the Women's Center at Western Illinois University. They preview events and activities planned for Women's History Month, which begins March 1.

One of the first events is the opening of the exhibit "Women's Art: Women's Vision." It features work by local women artists. The display can be seen throughout the month in the WIU Multicultural Center. An opening reception will be held March 1, 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guests are Macomb City Administrator Dean Torreson and Sixth Ward Alderman Tim Lobdell. They talk about the half-cent sales tax hike referendum that appears on this month's ballot.

The money raised would be used to pay for road and bridge repairs. It would be added to the half-cent already in place to pay for such work.

Voters narrowly rejected the same ballot proposal in the fall. Lobdell thinks the referendum failed because it's a local issue that was mixed in with a bunch of state and federal elections.

Colona, IL – Congressman Bobby Schilling was sworn in a few weeks ago as part of a freshman class that unseated a lot of incumbent Democrats.

But, Schilling says he's not about adhering to the party line. He says won't be in lock step with Republicans on every measure.

Schilling does, however, want a complete repeal and replacement of what he calls a "job-killing" piece of legislation that's effectively a "government takeover" of health care.
