Galesburg voters saw a few new names on this month's ballot.  A couple of the newcomers who did not win said they nonetheless benefited from the experience.

Former Burlington Alderman Chris King has been found guilty of sexually abusing four teenage girls. The jury of 6 men and 6 women deliberated for about 8 hours over a two day period before reaching ithe guilty verdict.

The trial of Chris King, a former member of the Burlington City Council, is entering its second week. King faces up to 35 years in prison on multiple charges including sexual abuse and indecent exposure.

New Attorney for Former Burlington Alderman

A former member of the Burlington City Council member accused of sexually abuse minors has new legal representation following the promotion for his previous attorney.

The list of criminal charges against former Burlington City Council member Chris King, 41, continues to grow. He is accused of having illegal sexual contact with several minors he met through his photography studio in Burlington.

Des Moines County Corrections

Chris King, 41, was released from the Des Moines County Jail after posting bond Monday afternoon. King was arrested in early May on several counts including sexual abuse, indecent exposure and providing alcohol to minors.

Chris King, 40, was arrested after a lengthy investigation into him having illegal sexual contact with several teenage girls. King served on the Burlington City Council from 2002-2005.

According to the Burlington Police Department, "On Feb. 7, Burlington detectives were notified by multiple concerned parents that their daughters had been sexually abused."
