Macomb Fire Chief Andy Taylor said the city’s first test of its new emergency telephone notification system went well.
Taylor said calls were made to 9,600 homes and businesses. He said the city worked off the 911 database -- which contains land line numbers -- so those with only cell phones were not contacted.
“If people did not receive a phone call last Friday (October 26) that means we don’t have your number. So I encourage them to let us know if they weren’t notified whether by phone or cell phone and we can get that taken care of,” Taylor said.
