Macomb, IL – WIU has been notified it will recieve the largest planned gift in its history. Norman and Carmelita Teeter of Memphis, Tennessee will give the university the interest on a $20 million dollar life trust. Then the principal will revert to an educational trust for their descendants. Norman Teeter received his undergrad degree in psychology from WIU. He and his wife treated addictions and later ran treatment centers in Kentucky and Tennessee. The WIU Foundation says when there are no more Teeter descendants, the principal will revert to the university.
