West-Central Illinois Lawmaker Stepping Down For Several Reasons

Quincy, IL – A longtime state lawmaker from West-Central Illinois says there are several reasons why he will resign. State Representative Art Tenhouse (R-Liberty) says he will leave office this summer to become the Illinois CPA Society's VP of Government Affairs. He has served in the legislature for more than 16 years. Tenhouse, who is an accountant, says he will worki in Springfield as a lobbyist as part of the new job. He says this position will allow him to spend more time with his family. Tenhouse says working with his constituants to solve their problems are his most memorable accomplishments. He says his biggest regret, from his time in office, is that he did not spend more time with his children when they were younger. At this point, Tenhouse is the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, whose name will appear on the November ballot in the 93rd district.
