Warsaw Road Improvements Coming Soon

Warsaw, IL – Part of the road connecting Hamilton and Warsaw is in line for some much needed repairs. Engineers have already begun the surveying work on River Road, just north of Warsaw. The town maintains about 2.5 miles of the road. Mayor Robert Frank says the improvement project is important to Warsaw. Frank says some portions of the road will be resurfaced while other stretches will be completely reconstructed. After years of lobbying, the city will receive $850,000 from the federal government for the project. The local match will be 20% or about 170-thousand dollars. The total price of the river road project will not be known until the surveying is completed. Frank says construction is scheduled to begin next year, though the state could move the project up.
