Volunteers Help Maintain Historic Site

Macomb, IL – The owner of the historic Moses King Brickyard in Colchester remains in the hospital, more than one month after she was involved in an unusual and serious car crash. A group of volunteers is now working to make sure the site is maintained while she continues to recuperate. The group will hold a fundraiser Saturday (April 22) at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Macomb from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will feature live music and a silent auction. The money raised will be used to pay for maintenance at the Brickyard, which is being converted into a place where art is created. The Brickyard's owner, Dev, was injured in early March while traveling in eastern Illinois to visit family. Her car crashed into a horse that was on the road. It took more than an hour to remove her from the car. She's been hospitalized ever since. It's not known how long she will remain in the hospital.
