Victim Services Turns to Community for Support

Macomb, IL – Costs continue to rise for the Victim Services program at the Western Illinois Regional Council, but funding from the state and federal governments has not kept pace. As a result, the agency will ask the community to provide a helping hand. Victim Services will hold its first-ever benefit auction Friday December 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Chandler's Restaurant in Macomb. Victim Services Director Diane Mayfield says the money raised will do more than help the agency - it'll help the victims who have to deal with domestic violence and sexual assault on a daily basis. The items available at the auction include a pair of tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals game, a gift package from the Inselhaus, and a gingerbread house.
