The wintery weather is blamed for two fatal crashes in western Illinois.
One of the crashes happened on McDonough County Road 2000 East, just north of County Road 1700 North near Bushnell.
Illinois State Police said 14-year old Remington Neeley of Macomb was killed when the car she was riding in went out of control due to the snowy conditions Friday evening. The Chevy Impala left the road, became airborne, and struck a grain bin.
The driver was 17-year old Kasarah Riden of Bushnell. State police said she suffered major injuries and was taken to OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
The other crash happened on 40th Avenue near 30th Street in Warren County.
State police said 20-year old Ali Alfaraj lost control of his car on the icy road. The Ford Mustang skidded off the road and rolled over several times. State police said Alfaraj was not wearing a seat belt and was tossed 100 feet from the car.
Alfaraj was a Saudi National who recently attended Western Illinois University.
The crash was discovered early Friday. It's not know what time it happened.
