Two Finalists For Macomb School Superintendent

Macomb, IL – The national search for the next Macomb School District superintendent has been narrowed to two candidates - both of whom are from this region. They are Jane Michael, who is superintendent of Yorkwood Community Unit School District 225 and Alene Reuschel, who is superintendent of Avon Community Unit School District 176. Public receptions will be held for each of them at the auditorium on Spoon River College's campus in Macomb. Michael will meet with the public on Thursday February 8. Reuschel's reception will be held Tuesday February 13. Both will take place from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. The Board of Education interviewed six finalists before narrowing the field to two. Michael and Reuschel will each be interviewed again after their public receptions. The board hopes to name the new superintendent at its February 20 meeting. Current Superintendent Fran Karanovich will retire after this school year ends.
