Wayland, MO – Northeast Missouri leaders broke ground Wednesday for a new Flying J travel plaza that is scheduled to be built just outside of Wayland. The nearly 11,000 square foot facility will be located on 30 acres of land at the intersection of Highways 136 and 27. Steve Murphy is with the Kahoka-Clark County Economic Development Corporation. He says this project is very important to Northeast Missouri. The project is expected to create at least 60 jobs initially, with another 85 jobs on the construction side. Project manager Mike Miller says work will begin once the final permits are obtained. He says it would take about 180 days to complete the plaza.
