Tri States Public Radio News Department Receives Awards
The Tri States Public Radio news team has won 5 Illinois Associated Press awards for excellence in broadcast journalism in this year's contest.
News Director Rich Egger's reporting on the "50% Plus One" controversy won first place for Best Investigative Report and 2nd place in Best Hard News Feature. In a great example of how our full-time staff and students work together to produce amazing work, former student reporter James Needham and former Morning Edition Host Scott Stuntz won 2nd place in the Best Series or Documentary category for "Delayed Action: The Industry Mine". Scott also won first place in the Best Reporter category and 2nd place in the spot news category for "Hard to Get Farm Bill Info During Shutdown".
