Toward the end of the month, testimony wrapped up in the trial of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. The case was sent to the jury on July 28. No verdict had been reached by the end of the month.

Rich Egger took listeners on an audio tour of storm damaged parts of Argyle Lake State Park, Alex Degman reported on a survey that could change the scope of police services in Macomb, and Jason Parrott took us on board replicas of the Nina and Pinta, which docked for a few days in southeast Iowa.
