The Tri States – A look back at the top stories and features from the Tri States Public Radio news department from April 2010.

The top story is President Barack Obama's trip to the tri states near the end of the month. He spoke about green energy during a visit to the Siemens Energy plant in Fort Madison, and pushed for reforms on Wall Street during a stop in Quincy.

Also during the month, a huge rally took place at the Illinois Capitol, where demonstrators called for a tax increase to help pay for state services.

Alex Degman reported on a Tea Party rally held at Monmouth College on April 15. Jason Parrott was on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony at the new prison in Fort Madison on April 22.

Voters in northeast Missouri decided several referenda early in the month.

A meteor lit up the night sky on April 14, and Rich Egger reported on efforts to light up a prairie owned by Knox College.
