Tourist Kiosk Delayed

Nauvoo, IL – Nauvoo aldermen have been waiting for about one year for information on a possible tourist kiosk that would be placed about three miles south of town. Mayor John McCarty says the structure would be paid for mainly from a Scenic Highways and Byways grant, with the city to provide some in-kind services. He says aldermen are still waiting for details about what kind of information could be placed on the kiosk. He says the composition of the council has changed greatly since the proposal was first suggested. He says new aldermen will have to be brought up to speed on the project so they can decide whether it should be supported.
