Telecommunicators Get New Contracat

Macomb, IL – McDonough County's emergency dispatch center has a new contract with its telecommunicators. Director Noel Oliver says the four-year pact means the contract will not expire in the same year as other police units. He says the contract includes language allowing the seven full-time staffers to trade vacation or compensatory time for cash. He says this is good for management, because that means replacements need not be paid time-and-a-half. Oliver also says he wants to increase the full-time staff to ten to eliminate some of the fill-ins who must be paid at overtime rates.
