Roughly eight hours of negotiations Tuesday failed to yield a contract agreement in the Galesburg teachers strike.
The two sides are scheduled to meet again with a federal mediator at Wednesday morning.
Galesburg Education Association Spokesperson Tami Qualls said the union submitted four different proposals for the district’s consideration Tuesday but there was no movement toward a resolution.
The remaining sticking point is over recall rights which include an evaluation system that is used in the event of layoffs.
In a statement, the district said it will not further alter the evaluation method because it was developed in accordance with Illinois School Code.
The strike has now lasted two full weeks.
