SRC Takes First Steps to New Macomb Campus

Macomb, IL – The Spoon River College Board has taken the first step toward securing a new Macomb campus. Board President Dave Maguire says the school has filed with the state's Resource Allocation and Management Plan for a $26 million dollar campus. He says this will get the project on the list, but it could take years for the project to reach the top. Maguire says the existing 36,000 square foot building in Macomb is inadequate to cope with the up to 27% growth in enrollment. The new site, which has not been chosen, could offer more classrooms and space for specialized labs. Maguire says the board will avoid duplicating in Macomb programs now operating in Canton.
