Macomb, IL – The McDonough County Clerk's office has ordered some software that could solve some problems caused by overlapping tax districts. Florine Miller says the Manatron company believes it can now automate figuring taxes where the enterprise zone and a tax increment financing district both apply. Miller says the company was unable to solve the probelem before. However, it acquired new programmers when it purchased another governmental software company. She says now they believe they can produce the software. She says her office will try the new software next spring in parallel with the present method of extending tax rates.
