Macomb, IL – The panelists discuss what went wrong with citizen journalism during last week's tragedy at Fort Hood, Texas.

A good deal of incorrect information came from the Twitter account of a soldier who was in the hospital where the wounded were being treated. Traditional media picked up the tweets and disseminated the incorrect information - including the report that the suspected shooter was dead.

Citizen journalism can provide value. But in this case, the tweeter appeared more interested in feeding her ego than offering important information.
