School Realignment Plan Proposed

Rushville, IL – A realignment plan proposed in the Schuyler-Industry School District would send all fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students to the building in Industry. Superintendent Matt Plater says this would take one grade out of each building in Rushville. He says this would free up space at those crowded schools and ensure the building in Industry is fully utilized. Plater outlined his recommendations in Rushville this week. About 200 people attended the meeting. Some expressed concerns about the amount of travel time for the students going to Industry, which would require the district to shorten the school day at that building. Plater says it will be February or March before the school board votes on what changes -- if any -- will be made.
