West Burlington, IA – A local community college is increasing tuition rates. The Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees has approved a 5% tuition hike for the next school year. Students will pay $102 per credit hour. SCC President, Beverly Simone, says this increase could generate as much as $350,000, which will help balance next year's bduget. She says the college will also expand current offerings and create several new programs, based on local and regional community strategy surveys.
