Rutherford Seeks Secretary's Office

Macomb, lIL – The Republican candidate for Illinois Secretary of State wants to change the culture of the office. Dan Rutherford hopes the change will carry over to Illinois politics in General. The State Senator and 10-year Illinois House member says the type of behavior that has often been prevalent in the office must be rooted out, and it will take hands-on leadership at the top to do it. Rutherford says the office needs to use more modern technology to improve the service it offers to taxpayers. He also wants to use the internet to allow people to schedule an appointment with their drivers service offices. Rutherford worked 10 years for ServiceMaster International and believes that experience could help him bring a changed atmosphere to the state office.
He spoke during a campaign appearance in Macomb.
