Western Illinois – Primary elections were held throughout west-central Illinois on Tuesday. The Associated Press has declared that Andrea Zinga narrowly edged Jim Mowen in the Republican primary for Congress in the 17th District. Zinga will now get a rematch with Democratic Congressman Lane Evans, who defeated her two years ago. Here are the unofficial final numbers from the rest of the contested ballot items in the region:
