Regional Superintendent to Step Down Early

Macomb, IL – The Hancock-McDonough County Regional Superintendent of Schools plans to retire at the end of this month. Robert Baumann says after 15 years in the elective office, it's time for something different. Baumann has recommended that his assistant superintendent, Gary Eddington, be named to the position. Eddington has held that post for seven years. Baumann says the biggest changes during his term have been the number of school district reorganizations and the state requirements for re-certifying teachers. He says the amount of required staff development courses has also increased.
