Ramsey Retrial Moved

Carthage, IL – There's been another change of venue for a western Illinois murder trial. 28-year old Daniel Ramsey of Keokuk is accused of killing two Hancock County teenagers in 1996 and trying to kill three other people. He was found guilty in 1997, but the conviction from that trial in Knox County was overturned. His retrial was scheduled to begin next month in McDonough County, but it's now been moved to Fulton County. Judge Steven Bordner says Fulton County has more courtrooms available and is closer to Peoria's airport, which will make it easier for expert witnesses who are flown in. Ramsey's attorney opposed the change, saying neither side in the case asked for it. The retrial is now scheduled to begin in March in Lewistown.
