Park Board Wants to Boost Income

Rushville, IL – The Rushville Park Board wants to increase income at its Scripps Park Golf Course to avoid staff layoffs. President Sue Acker says the board laid off the assistant superintendent last year due to financial constraints. Acker says the board approved eliminating the $20 differential for non-resident golf memberships in hopes of increasing the number of golfers from the area. She says the number of club memberships has been dropping slightly. She says the board also wants to improve equipment on the course. Acker says the board will ask a former member to sell sponsorships for the tee markers and possibly sell advertising on the score cards.
