Keokuk, IA – Keokuk residents willhave a chance to find out what is going on under that giant tent in Keokuk. Ameren UE will hold an open house, Friday afternoon, to talk about its plans to remove coal-tar resident from the soil where a former gas-manufacturing plant once stood. Spokesperson Mike Cleary says the tent will prevent odors and fumes from being released into the air. More than 15,000 tons of soil will be removed during the clean-up. Cleary says everything should be completed by April.
