No SCC President Yet

West Burlington, IA – Southeastern Community College is still in the market for a new president. SCC's Board of Trustees voted, last night, to hold off on naming a new president. Board President Jeff Heland says the panel is still weighing all of its options, but would not elaborate. The board met for about one hour in closed session before announcing its decision. Prior to that, the public had a chance to offer some final comments. The feedback from that session was split. Several search committee members told the board it had the two best candidates before it, Dr. Beverly Simone and Dr. Cynthia Thiede. Others said the board should take the time to interview a handful of alternate candidates to make sure the school gets the best representative. Heland says nothing new has been scheduled in the search process.
