NAACP Still Waitiing for Answers

Macomb, IL – The McDonough County NAACP is keeping the heat on the City of Macomb. The August 8 city council committee meeting was attended by President Gregg Huston and others who he says were willing to share stories of police wrongdoing toward minorities. But with Mayor Mick Wisslead absent from the meeting, aldermen chose to wait another week before addressing the concerns. In addition, City Administrator Mike Hays says he and the police department have prepared responses to a list of questions submitted by Huston, but those are being reviewed by attorneys. The city will offer its responses in a week. Huston's questions concern diversity training and police conduct toward minorities.
