More Complaints About Macomb Police

Macomb, IL – A local activist believes racial problems still exist in Macomb and he thinks the police department is doing little to rectify the situation. McDonough County NAACP President Gregg Huston says just three members of the police department attended a diversity training session conducted by the Anti-Defamation League. Meanwhile, members of the McDonough County Sheriff's Department and WIU's Office of Public Safety were required to attend. Huston says Police Chief Mike Galloway was among those who failed to attend. Huston shared a list of questions and concerns with the city council during its final committee meeting of July. Mayor Mick Wisslead promised to provide a response after the city gets some time to study the list. You can hear the entire exchange between Huston and the city council by clicking on the audio button above.
