Montrose, IA – The first annual Pride of Montrose festival and 2005 craft show took place all day Saturday and Sunday. The event featured live music, kids games, and garage sales throughout town. Greg Ruth with Montrose Riverfront Inc. says the event was a way to honor the community's history. Ruth says the weekend also put a spotlight on Montrose's restaurants. Several businesses took part in a taste of Montrose with turkey legs, hot dogs, strawberry shortcake, and pies for sale. The weekend also marked the establishment of a new visitor's center in the town.
