Jefferson City, MO – The District 1 seat in the Missouri House of Representatives is up for grabs this year. Due to term limits, incumbent Brian Munzlinger (R-Williamstown) is seeking a seat in the Missouri Senate.

Neil McKee (R-Kahoka) wants the opportunity to serve Clark, Lewis, Knox, and Scotland Counties.

McKee says his experience as a pharmacist and a small business owner gives him integrity and common sense.

"I am running on what I have done, not what I can promise," says McKee. "I think that what I have done lends me the ability to go ahead and try to continue to do this at another level."

McKee says he has been involved in the creation of more than 150 jobs through his businesses and organizations he has worked with.

McKee says the biggest challenges facing the district are the lack of a complete 911 system in some rural neighborhoods, declining state revenues, and Missouri's opposition to the health care reform law. He says he will also work hard for rural areas, since urban lawmakers are the majority in Jefferson City.

Missouri's primary election is Tuesday, August 3.
