Macomb, IL 61455 – McDonough County's ESDA Director is asking for a voluntary outdoor burning ban throughout the county. Steve Miller says the hot and dry conditions make outdoor fires extremely hazardous. He says it would be too easy for a fire to get out of control and threaten other structures. The ban will be in effect until further notice. He says there is no county penalty for violating the ban, but many towns and villages have provisions calling for ordinance violation fines for those who break the ban.
