Macomb, IL – The county's auditor outlined budget requirements and guidelines at a special session for board members and department heads. John Lehman outlined the budget process and reminded board members they need to work to increase the county's end-of-year balance. He says real estate tax money does not start coming in until about two-thirds of the way through the fiscal year. Sixteen of the 21 board members attended the session. Finance Committee Chairwoman Alice Henry said she asked for the workshop because of questions officeholders had been asking her about the budget process. She says budget workshops will begin next month for the fiscal year beginning December 1.
