Liquor Code Review Resumes

Macomb, IL – Macomb aldermen are getting back to work on revising the city's liquor code. The latest version does not allow alcohol to be sold on Sundays at bars, taverns, nightclubs, and package stores. Restaurants and civic and fraternal clubs would have an opportunity to do so, but would need to purchase a special license. There are also some changes to the fees charged for various license categories, and there's a proposal to reduce the size of the liquor commission from seven members to three. Aldermen are expected to review more proposed revisions at their next committee meeting in two weeks.
