Lessons from the Farm Crisis

Mark Kenney and his family lived through the farm crisis of the 1980s, when the bottom dropped out of the U.S. economy and collapsing global food markets forced many farmers out of business.

Yet, Kenney feels lucky he was to grow up during a notoriously tough time to be a farmer. He talks about it in the first installment of this year’s My Farm Roots series from Harvest Public Media.

Here is a link to his story on the Harvest Public Media website, which also includes links to other stories from the series.
