Lee County Hiring

Fort Madison, IA – Lee County will add three new employees to the Sheriff's Department. The County Board of Supervisors has authorized the hiring of 3 part-time employees that will work as dispatchers and correctional officers in the county jail. The hirings come just a couple of weeks after the board chose not to fill a vacancy in the recorder's office to try to save money. Board Chairman Rick Larkin says the 3 part-time workers are needed to maintain public safety. Sheriff Buck Jones says the 3 new hires will replace 3 other part-time workers that are being promoted. The promoted correctional officers will fill vacancies in the sheriff's department.
