Lee County Delays Mental Health Service

Keokuk, IA – The board of supervisors has voted to hold off on awarding a contract for a new community drop-off center for its residents. C-P-C administrator Jim Posz says the recommendation before the board is a one year deal with Hope Haven Developmental Center of Burlington. The board wants Posz to provide more information on site location, the four bids for the center, and the costs associated with it. In other action, the board voted to delay signing a contract with Farmington-based ResCare Mental Health Services. The sticking point remains a $15,000 charge for after-hours care and expanded access to psychiatric care.
