Keokuk to Continue Transit Service

Keokuk, IA – The Keokuk city council has voted to accept a new service contract for bus transportation with the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission. Mayor Dave Gudgel says the service has been a positive for the city, with growing ridership. The one-year deal will cost the city $7,500. Gudgel says the hours will remain from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. There is the possibility of extended hours. He says there were more than 1,000 riders during bout 415 hours of service over the last six months.
