Keokuk Approves Police Pay Hike

Keokuk, IA – Keokuk has approved a pay hike for members of the police bargaining unit. The city council voted to give the police officers a 4% wage hike for the fiscal year that begins in July. Finance Committee Chairman, Doug Matlick, says the city agreed to the bargaining unit's recent offer after the results of a wage analysis showed the city was below-average. The study looked at cities whose populations, demographics, and economies are similar to Keokuk's. Keokuk is still in negotiations with 3 other unions.
