Macomb, IL – It's not every day students in a University's symphony orchestra play alongside international rock stars. But that's exactly what happened Dec. 2 as Kansas made a tour stop in Macomb.
Many students in the orchestra saw this concert as a once in a lifetime opportunity. But just what does it take to prepare for this type of show? Lots and lots of practice.
Not only had many students never played alongside a classic rock band before, but some say they had to learn how to play new time signatures. It was a challenging process, but judging by the both the orchestra and crowd's reaction, it was well worth the effort.
